Ivy Tech Community College

Ivy Tech is a statewide open-admissions community college that has grown into the second-largest post-secondary institution in Indiana. Our programs lead to two-year associate's degrees and one-year technical certificates. With 23 campuses and low tuition, Ivy Tech is both convenient and affordable. Each year, Ivy Tech partners with four-year colleges and universities to add new transfer opportunities for our students. More and more Ivy Tech graduates are building on their associate's degrees and continuing to the bachelor's level. We also serve the state's businesses and workers with customized education and short-term skill-building programs. Many courses are designed to let professionals earn continuing education units.

      The Student Show at Ivy Tech exhibits an interesting variety of work from the fine arts and visual communications departments. With examples from so many areas of study, the show is too broad to be a representative survey of each discipline. What the show does demonstrate brilliantly is the way Ivy Tech students learn the fundamentals of art and design—line, color, form, texture, etc.—to form the foundation to excel in a wide range of applications from hand to digital. Fine art drawing, photography, 3D design, and sculpture are shown, as well as commercial postors, brochures, and electronic imaging and illustration. The commercial work is remarkable for its obvious emphasis on marketing and creative strategies in addition to actual production. Well worth a visit. Collapse
