Northern Indiana Pastel Society

Formed in the summer of 2006, the Northern Indiana Pastel Society welcomes artists from northern Indiana and southern Michigan.

Our purpose is to stimulate interest in pastels and to encourage and support members in their artistic and professional growth. We are also dedicated to forming alliances, sharing information and having fun.

Our meetings are held on the third Sunday of October, February, April, June and August at 1:00 p.m. The programs offered include guest speakers, demonstrations, workshops, exhibits and sales, and a newsletter. The membership dues are $20.00 for one year.

      This exhibit is a must see exhibit of the medium of pastels. There are many strong points in the exhibit from traditional portraiture to landscapes, from the traditional use of the medium to strong usage of bold color. I found this exhibit to be a strong exhibit with few weaknesses. I strongly encourage that everyone keep an eye on The Northern Indiana Pastel Society on future exhibits that proudly display the talents of many fine artists working in the medium of pastel.
