Elkhart Civic Theatre

For more than 50 years, Elkhart Civic Theatre has been performing a wide variety of theatrical entertainment in Elkhart County, Indiana. From small beginnings as the Elkhart Little Theatre in the late 1940s, presenting one or two plays a year in borrowed or rented facilities, the organization has grown to a full-fledged arts organization. Today, ECT owns and operates the Bristol Opera House, a 100-year-old theatre in Bristol, Indiana, where it performs the bulk of its productions. ECT produces a six-show season, usually consisting of four non-musicals and two musicals. There is also a summer musical, a Christmas season musicale and other special events. In recent years, ECT has gained statewide and regional recognition as one of the best community theatres in the midwest.

Join the youth of ECTeam as they present this musical that teaches us all, no matter how big no matter how tall, that “…a person’s a person no matter how small.”

It’s September 8th, 1934, and Cleveland’s premiere opera producer is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Everything is ready to go, but a disaster is looming. The leading man—the greatest tenor in the world—is missing. What follows is a chain-reaction of mistaken identity, plot twists, double entendres, and love on an operatic scale.

      The ECT prodution abilities are better than the script they are trying to serve. The performance and technical aspects of the show are all good or better than good. The script is full of potty humor... Expand
