Studebaker National Museum is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization. The mission of the Studebaker National Museum is to honor and perpetuate the legacy of the rich industrial heritage of the South Bend area, through the display, interpretation, conservation, and preservation of Studebaker vehicles, archives, and other objects to enrich present and future generations. The museum is intended to be a fitting memorial to men and women of our community whose vision, creativity, and energy built the products that are today our industrial manufacturing heritage.

    Black History Month Exhibit - Educating a Community: Dr. Virginia 'Ginny' Calvin Studebaker National Museum Black History Month Exhibit - Educating a Community: Dr. Virginia 'Ginny' Calvin Presented by Studebaker National Museum at Studebaker National Museum February 1-February 29, 2012 Virginia Calvin and Clement Studebaker share a common bond - both began their successful careers in the classroom. Mr. Studebaker taught at South Bend's Palmer School in 1850-1851 before leaving to explore the blacksmith trade. Dr. Calvin's career began over a century later as a sixth-grade teacher in Beulah, Missippi, and culminated 44 years later with her retirement as Chancellor of Ivy Tech Community College-North Central in South Bend.

    Sirens of Chrome brings Sizzle to the Studebaker National Museum Studebaker National Museum Sirens of Chrome brings Sizzle to the Studebaker National Museum Presented by Studebaker National Museum at Studebaker National Museum January 20-April 1, 2012 Sirens of Chrome takes visitors on a visual joyride through Auto Show history and features a treasure trove of rare images of turn-of-the-century goddesses, 1950s sex symbols and today’s highly trained product specialists. The Sirens of Chrome exhibit includes many historical photos from private collections, auto enthusiast portfolios and the National Automotive Historical Collection of the Detroit Public Library.       Longtime local educator Virginia Calvin is the subject of a new exhibit at Studebaker National Museum, 201 S. Chapin St.
      
      The display is entitled “Educating a Community: Dr. Virginia ‘Ginny’ Calvin.”
      
      The exhibit is part of the museum’s celebration of Black History Month, which is February. The display includes photos, plaques, newspaper clippings and other mementos of Calvin’s career. Collapse

      What there is of the Studebaker Museum's "Hoosier Made Indiana's Auto Makers" exhibit is well done and informative. I assume space limitation played an inportant factor in having only five example... Expand

      What there is of the Studebaker Museum's "Hoosier Made Indiana's Auto Makers" exhibit is well done and informative. I assume space limitation played an inportant factor in having only five example cars. The five autos were exquisite, but I'm not sure that five autos do justice to the chosen theme. I am a member of the Studebaker Drivers Club as well as an owner of a Studebaker and have enjoyed the museum in the past. However, I'm not sure that this exhibit was worth the trip from the Chicago area. Collapse
