Comic Opera: Advertising from Mozart to Moore

The Bethel College Operatic Irregulars will present comedies running the gamut from Imperial Vienna to Commercial Television. In Mozart's "The Impresario," a series of theatrical wannabes will advertise their acting and singing talents, hoping to land a spot in a theater director's new company. Then, in Douglas Moore's "Gallantry," four singers advertise not their talents, but hand soap and floor wax, between operatic renditions of hospital scenes from a 1950s soap opera. The performances are totally acoustic.
