The IUSB Jazz Ensemble presents their first show of the season. Darrel Tidaback directs this big-band style ensemble that includes students as well as community musicians. Tidaback has been a member of the IU South Bend music faculty since the spring of 2002. He may be heard with jazz groups in Chicago, across Michiana and as a performer with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, the South Bend Chamber Singers and the Vesper Chorale. He appeared in concert and performed on NPR with jazz legend Lionel Hampton. Tidaback has also accompanied such well known entertainers as Bob Hope, Jerry Lewis, Carol Channing, Mitzi Gaynor, Dionne Warwick, Toni Tennille, Yma Sumac, and Shirley Jones, and has performed with Chanticleer, the Drifters, the Coasters, and Little Anthony and the Imperials.
