Assistant Professor of Music Theory John Mayrose joins the faculty of the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts this fall. He began to play guitar at age 14 and was studying classical guitar and gigging on electric bass in indie rock bands shortly after that. These backgrounds are reflected in his music, that doesn't fit neatly in either classical or popular music style, but is a synthesis of the two.
