Rebecca Hovan will perform with Chris Seitz, piano. Hovan teaches at IU South Bend and Goshen College. She is a member of the National Flute Association (NFA) and served the NFA as Chair of the Pedagogy Committee for five years. She has participated in the preparation of several of the Pedagogy Committee's publications as well as co-authored the Blocki Flute Method Book II including the teachers manual and supplementary duets. As a performer, she appears regularly in recital and with various ensembles in the Northern Indiana area. She has performed on programs at several conventions of the National Flute Association. Her training includes a Master of Music from the University of North Texas where she was a Teaching Fellow in Flute and studied with Mary Karen Clardy. She was a winner of the National Flute Association’s Masterclass Competition and has presented various pedagogy workshops for the NFA, colleges and universities, and various flute festivals. Recent activities include recording her first CD, A Silver Christmas, released in December, 2008.
