Nikita Abrosimov, piano

Nikita Abrosimov, born in Lesnoy, Russia in 1988, began his piano studies at the age of six with Ludmila Eremeitseva. In 2000, Nikita moved to Nizhny Novgorod where he studied with distinguished teacher Natalia Fish until 2007. During this time he won numerous international piano competitions, which took place in Kiev, Ukraine (2000); Paris, France (2002); Cartemilia, Italy (2003), and Nizhny Novgorod, Russia (2004). He also regularly performed in studio concerts and with orchestra. In 2005 Abrosimov toured the Netherlands and Germany. After graduation from Nizhny Novgorod Music College in 2007, Abrosimov came to the United States where he studied with Maxim Mogilevsky and Virginia Marks at Bowling Green State University, Ohio. In September 2007 he participated in a masterclass given by Sergei Babayan. Abrosimov moved to South Bend, Ind. in 2008 to continue his studies with Martin Endowed Professor in Piano Alexander Toradze at Indiana University South Bend.
Since then Abrosimov has regularly participated in concerts with the Toradze Piano Studio. In October 2008 he took part in the Toradze Piano Studio Rachmaninov Marathon in Lisbon at the Gulbenkian Auditorium. In November 2009 he made his United States orchestral debut with the Stanford Symphony Orchestra performing Prokofiev’s Second Piano Concerto. On February 27th, 2010 Abrosimov performed on a live broadcast of Sergei Rachmaninov’s piano works on WFMT in Chicago.
