26th Annual Women's High School Choir Festival
November 18-November 19, 2010
Add Review/Comment
The Women's High School Choir Festival is a unique opportunity to provide treble choirs with exposure to other choirs of its kind, and to give the members a special event to look forward to that is geared especially toward them. Each participating choir will be asked to perform three or four pieces. Please understand that this is not a show choir event, but a concert choir festival. There will be no competition as such, but each choir will receive written evaluations from two commentators and a third commentator will work with each choir for 15-20 minutes following their performance.
This year’s commentators will be Barbara Tagg, founder and former Artistic Director of the Syracuse Children’s Chorus and conductor of the Syracuse University Women’s Choir, and the well-known composer team of Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory. Caldwell is Artistic Director of the Youth Choral Theatre of Chicago, and Ivory is the conductor of the Grand Rapids Symphony Youth Chorus and a vocal music instructor at Forest Hills Central High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Presented by the Department of Music.
