Spend a week learning about origami, the traditional Japanese art of paper folding. The goals of this academic camp are to: * learn about the different kinds of origami; * learn some basic folds; * construct some basic and more advanced origami figures (for you to keep!); * learn how to read an origami diagram (so that you can keep trying new figures even after the camp is over); and * discover how origami is applied in industries like NASA spacecraft. We’ll even see some computer tools that origami experts use to help them construct some of their very advanced figures. If you love folding, art, math, science, or just having a good time, you’ll love participating in this class.
