A glorious variety of gardens will be showcased in the 21st "Arts In Bloom" Garden Walk sponsored by the Art League, during a tour of personal gardens maintained by homeowners on the near west and east side of the city of South Bend. The Garden Walk will display some of the city's most beautiful private gardens from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 (this date is rain or shine.)

Local artists will have easels set up at some residences, capturing the beauty of the gardens on canvas. In addition to visiting some of the area's most stunning scenery, Garden Walk participants can enjoy several features offered to enhance their tour.

Complimentary refreshments will be available at the hospitality center located at the Sunnyside Presbyterian Church, 115 S. Frances St., South Bend, the day of the walk. The St. Joseph County Public Library will display a large collection of gardening books available for on-the-spot check-out.

Tickets for the Garden Walk tour are $10 and are available the day of the Garden Walk at the hospitality center from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To order tickets by mail, send $10 for each ticket to the Art League Garden Walk, 1230 Dennis Drive, South Bend, IN 46614. A canceled check serves as a reservation; mail-ordered tickets will be held at the church the day of the tour. No tickets will be sold at the individual gardens. The Art League Garden Walk is open to the public, maps and directions to the gardens are available with ticket purchases at the church. The Art League Garden Walk benefits the South Bend Museum of Art by supporting its ongoing projects in the visual arts.
