    Instructor: Cathy McCormick.

Here’s your chance to get out of the studio and into the open air. Please join us outside the South Bend Museum of Art as we paint views of the St. Joseph River in pastel. We will begin in the studio with some basics on landscape painting, finding a composition, and working with changing light. Bring a small sketchbook, dry pastels, vine charcoal, paper (a quarter sheet of Canson gray paper, sanded paper or similar pastel paper) mounted on foam core or drawing board. Lawn chair, portable table or TV tray, portable easel, towel, hat, water, and lunch. In case of rain, we will work indoors at the museum. Class size is limited to 12 participants. All levels of ability are welcome, although it is recommended that you have familiarity with soft pastels and equipment. Lunch will be brown bag.
