The Bethel College Concert Band, under the direction of Mike Kendall, will perform its fall concert on Saturday, 17 April 2010, beginning at 7:30 pm. The concert will be held in the Everest-Rohrer Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public. In addition to the Concert Band, the concert will feature numbers by the Trombone Quartet, Flute Trio, Saxophone Quartet, and Woodwind Quintet. Concert selections include: a. Festive Variations on “Lasst uns Erfreuen” by Thomas Root b. Jubilation by Larry MacTaggart c. Amazing Grace by Frank Ticheli d. Psalm 46 by John Zdechlik 5. Chamber music selections include: a. Contrapuntus IV by J.S. Bach (Trombone Quartet) b. Quintet in Bb by N. Rimsky –Korsakov (Flute, Clarinet, Horn, Bassoon, and Piano) c. Irish Suite by E. A. Del-Borgo (Saxophone Quartet) d. Trio No. 5, Op. 83 by James Hook (Flute Trio) The one-hour concert will feature a wide variety of fine music and should be a very enjoyable concert experience for everyone. It will also be a great way to celebrate the end of spring classes. Due to scheduling changes this year, the Concert Band is the smallest it’s been in years. But the quality of players is exceptional. Students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to join us for the fall semester. Contact Mike Kendall (574.257.3394) with any questions.
