String Chamber Orchestra Concert
April 12, 2010
Add Review/Comment
Orchestral music making is alive and well in Bethel College!
On Monday, April 12, 2010 the Bethel Chamber Orchestra will present time-honored classics and modern gems.
The concert will feature a movement from a classic double concerto, Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp, and another from a great triple concerto, J. S Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5. Beethoven’s last overture, The Consecration of the House, will be done by the full orchestra, and selections from Saint-Saëns’ popular Carnival of the Animals: Zoological Fantasy for 2 Pianos and Chamber Ensemble, will highlight various combinations of instruments. Marilynn Ham will join the orchestra again in several of her own Hymn Arrangements with orchestra, and members of the orchestra will also combine in several short works for chamber ensembles.
The concert, to be conducted by Vicky Tan Warkentien, will take place at 7:30 PM in the Everest/Rohrer auditorium on the Bethel College campus.
