      Well, I have never been to this venue, but I met Marc Smith in 1998, the 1st year I went to the poetry slam nationals as a team member. I have seen both Marc host and perform his poetry. He is a delightful presence and an excellent showman. He could make reading the phone book interesting. Poetry Slam itself is an energetic and fun filled poetry event highlighting good original writing and compelling performances at its best. At its worst, you may not find much merit in some of the performances/poems, but that is the beauty of a slam, only the best poets/performers go on to the next round, and you as an audience member can influence that. This is worth checking out, I myself plan to make the trek from South Bend. Collapse

      Well, I have never been to this venue, but I met Marc Smith in 1998, the 1st year I went to the poetry slam nationals as a team member. I have seen both Marc host and perform his poetry. He is a delightful presence and an excellent showman. He could make reading the phone book interesting.
