This is an Opera Workshop Performance of Englebert Humperdink's opera Hansel and Gretel. This Englebert Humperdink is not the well-known British pop singer of the 1960's, but the not-so-well-known German composer of the 1890's. The opera is based on the popular children's story in Grimm's Fairy Tales. The production consists of students playing various roles as they learn how to develop characters through study, observation, analysis, and participation while simultaneously interpreting music via singing.
