A Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Nicholas Kristof has reported for The New York Times since 1984, writing an op-ed column since November 2001. His columns have often focused on global health, poverty, and gender issues in the developing world. He is widely known for bringing to light human rights abuses in Asia and Africa, such as Tiananmen Square, human trafficking, and the Darfur conflict. Kristof will lecture on his latest book, "Half the Sky: From Oppression to Opportunity for Women Worldwide," which he wrote with his wife, Sheryl WuDunn, also a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist. He will discuss what can be done to support women and girls in the developing world.
