Come explore the landscape of Louisiana and contemplate the "stain of our existence." The South Bend Museum of Art, in partnership with the Blue Gallery, is pleased to present Suggestions: Recent Works by George Marks and Lisa diStefano - Blue Gallery, Three Oaks in the Dot Weikamp Gallery.

Suggestions presents the artists’ compelling interpretations of the landscape and culture of Louisiana through the mixed-media works of George Marks and paintings of Lisa diStefano. A native of Baton Rouge, Lisa diStefano depicts the water, trees and marshes of the Louisiana landscape through texture and fusion of the abstract and realistic. Subtle details may be found in her paintings within pools of vivid color. George Marks explores “the stain of our existence”, our impact upon the world we live in. He works with a variety of media including acrylic, oil, resin, and tar on wooden surfaces. Marks portrays Louisiana with blues, browns, and reds of the Arnaudville skies and manipulates textures and surfaces to convey his personal connection to his South Louisiana heritage. Don’t miss this opportunity to view the breathtaking works of these Louisiana artists. Gallery has been exhibiting contemporary fine art by regional and nationally known artists.
