Fauna brings together two artists who utilize animals in their work to unexpected ends. Steve Seeley's mixed media pieces incorporate animals as stand-ins for humans; weaving a narrative that is equal parts pop culture and nature. Animals take the form of abstraction in Jane Ryder's gouache paintings on paper; forming abstract emblems and snippets of alien landscapes.

    i've seen steve's work around chicago and have never been disappointed. the south bend show was no exception. steve's work never fails to amaze me. and jane's work was just beautiful. great show!
