Madrigal Dinners
December 4-December 6, 2009
Add Review/Comment
Regina Hall is transformed into a medieval castle and a grand meal is served as the master of the house greets his “guests,” jugglers perform, and the Saint Mary’s College Madrigal Singers perform music of the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Joined by members of the Early Music Ensemble from Andrews University, the singers perform traditional sacred music that will reflect advent.
The music is conducted by Saint Mary’s College professor, Dr. Nancy Menk.
Sodexo (Saint Mary’s College Food Service) serves the feast, which features: Evening - slow-roasted seasoned prime rib garnished with button mushrooms which have been sauteed in garlic butter, Waldorf salad, herb-roasted red potatoes, baby carrots glazed in a honey orange sauce, wassail and cheesecake with a pecan graham cracker crust served in a dark flaming cherries jubilee sauce. Fresh baked bread is served individually on cutting boards. Vegetarian meals available upon request. Matinee - the menu features a savory Cornish game hen instead of prime rib. Children (12 and under) - chicken fingers and fries.
