Spring Art Walk
May 3, 2008
Add Review/CommentAll nine galleries in the Spring Art Walk represent (or are) local artists. We celebrate this rich culture right here in our city every spring and holiday at the Art Walks. Nine galleries in downtown South Bend will be participating. Crossroads Gallery is the latest addition to the event. Other galleries include South Bend Regional Museum of Art, Piser Designs, Fire Arts, Inc., The Spurious Fugitive, LLC, Studio Arts Center (Gallery 805 & Studio 807) and Colfax Campus Gallery. This year both CircaArts Gallery and the South Bend Regional Museum of Art are celebrating local artists both past and present: The South Bend Regional Museum of Art is filling its galleries with the largest and most comprehensive exhibition of its permanent collections. ....as well as the community’s homegrown artists and art educators whose work has been collected by the SBRMA over the past 61 years. SBMA is having a 30 years and Counting show for Four Instructors at the Museum. Elizabeth James, Jim Borden, Gundega Penikis, and Janet Leazenby all have been teaching at the Museum for 30 years! CircaArts Gallery has collaborated with Dave Makielski to bring to you a collection of past and present local artists. Names like Leon Makielski, Ed Harding and Joe Wrobel should bring back fond memories for many people who grew up in South Bend. These works will be for sale, framed and unframed.
