The Colfax Art Corridor is expanding its annual holiday art walk as more art galleries open up in the downtown area. All the artists are from our area. The public will be able to stroll along East and West Colfax Avenue and visit four art galleries in four blocks. Each gallery will have maps available that show all the gallery locations. Circa Arts Gallery, 528 East Colfax, is an eclectic blend of fine art, fine craft and antiques representing over 60 local artists. They offer one of a kind holiday gifts. Fire Arts, Inc. is group of 24 professional and emerging sculptors, potters, blacksmiths and painters located at 305 East Colfax. Work by visiting artists will include furniture, photography and other fine crafts. The public will also be able to tour the studio, which is behind the showroom, and see demonstrations. South Bend Regional Museum of Art, 120 S. St. Joseph, will have a ceramics sale by instructors and students from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Note that these hours are shorter than at the other locations.) Also at SBRMA: Quilling and Ornament workshops from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be three exhibitions: Beyond Tomorrow!, A Retrospective of Portraiture by Jean Dibble, Contemporary & Historical Works from the Permanent Collection, and SBRMA Student/Faculty Exhibition. The Spurious Fugitive: A Post Modern Gallery located at 114 West Colfax. Works by the gallery's artists will be on exhibition for the Month of December. The Holiday Art Walk will also be the gallery's opening reception for the December show of the gallery artist's work. For further information about the event, call any of the galleries.
