“WATER” is a magical collection of photography that explores the fleeting moments where water, wind and sky meet to create rippling energies and shimmering depths. I get a lot of strange looks. I’m the girl standing out in the rain storm, high winds and freezing snow (and yes, on occasion, a sunny day) at the waters edge with her camera, clicking away. I am waiting for the proverbial “magic moment” when all the elements collide for a fraction of time creating a visual enchantment. Capturing these transient moments requires me to be a little bit adventurous, leaning over banks, tip-toeing over rocks, hanging onto downed trees, and getting my feet wet - a lot - not to mention fighting the elements along with ticks and mosquitoes, who both have a love of the river. But it’s all worth it. These photographs of the Galien River, various creeks and Lake Michigan are taken with a Nikon D200 digital camera. They are NOT altered. They are what they are - just “WATER.” – Susan Henshaw
