The annual Spring Art Walk is always the first Saturday in May. This year, eight galleries in downtown South Bend will open their doors. The event is produced by Kathy Reddy White, owner of Circa Arts Gallery. All galleries represent local artists. Experience art, music, food and fun on the Colfax Arts Corridor as well as the Lincoln Way West Arts Corridor. Don't stop there! Monroe Street Studios house several working artists in their studios on Monroe Street between Main & St. Joseph Street, around the corner from the Post Office.

The newest addition to the Art Walk is Concrete Haus at 520 East LaSalle Ave. in the beautifully renovated Macri's building. The concrete artwork inside is just as stunning. Custom tables utilizing both concrete and steel are works of art. Mark Wenkus, owner and artist, designs almost anything in concrete from architectural details to tables and lamps.

Piser Designs has settled into new digs at 516 East Colfax Ave, next door to Inspire Me! and two doors down form CircaArts Gallery. Just down the Street on Hill St. is Spark Fine Stationery and Access Imprinted Sportswear. Down the street on Colfax Ave. is Fire Arts, Inc. Just beyond that is the South Bend Museum of Art. Galleries and retail shops are what makes the area known as The East Bank Village so fun and urban.

Shake off the winter blues by stepping out and seeing the rich arts community in downtown South Bend. Parking is plentiful at all locations and many galleries are within walking distance of each other. A map and more information is available at circaartsgallery.com.
