Almost as integral to American culture as Dickens' A Christmas Carol, this uplifting, inspiring saga of George Bailey, the Everyman from Bedford Falls, now comes to life on stage. When George feels his dreams of escape and adventure have been quashed by family obligation and civic duty, his guardian angel descends on Christmas Eve to save him from despair and remind him—by showing him what the world would have been like had he never been born—that this has been, after all, a wonderful life.

      My wife and I went to the opening night performance at Civic and had just great evening at the theatre. He was a responsible son, a responsible husband, a responsible father, a responsible banker and... Expand

      My wife and I went to the opening night performance at Civic and had just great evening at the theatre. He was a responsible son, a responsible husband, a responsible father, a responsible banker and a responsible citizen of his community. His responsibilities weighed him down at times and he so longed to escape them and dare to be different. But...his responsibilities held him back from his dreams. He didn't know (and we too often don't know) how the shouldering of those responsibilities makes us unique and loved by those who mean the most to us. George's guardian angel, Clarence, did a great job of helping George to get through a major crisis at the S&L and to help George realize that he was already leading a "wonderful life." It's a great nostaligia trip. I highly recommend the play. Collapse

He was a responsible son, a responsible husband, a responsible father, a responsible banker and a responsible citizen of his community. His responsibilities weighed him down at times and he so longed to escape them and dare to be different. But...his responsibilities held him back from his dreams.
