Stylish, graceful, and thought-provoking, here’s a play quite unlike any you may have ever seen! When a Samurai is murdered and his wife assaulted by a roving bandit, a beguiling mystery begins to unfold. Though the bandit is quickly apprehended and brought to trial, the truth proves far more illusive, as wildly contradictory versions of what happened are brought to light. But which version contains the ultimate truth? Based on Japanese folk tales, a mesmerizing play packed with relentless suspense.

      Last evening my wife and I went to see Rashomom at Civic. It's the story of murder and rape in a Japanese setting. The "murderer" confesses his crimes...but each of the 4 witnesses tells a different... Expand

      Last evening my wife and I went to see Rashomom at Civic. It's the story of murder and rape in a Japanese setting. The "murderer" confesses his crimes...but each of the 4 witnesses tells a different story of the crimes. The audience is left to determine who actually committed the crimes. Really good theatre. You will enjoy it and talk about it afterwards just as you did after the play "Doubt." Collapse
