Avg. Event Rating (4.6 Stars):Add Review/Comment | Read Reviews/Comments
Kristen Eliason's delicious prose and poetry drive a hard bargain between elegy and Japanese wabi-sabi. She was selected by Michael Martone to receive the 2008 Nicholas Sparks Prize and is working hard to stay warm for a third Indiana winter. A Utah native, Kristen spends most of her time plotting elaborate ways to travel outside of Utah and counts 23 countries on three continents as just the beginning. Her work is forthcoming in Diagram and Two Review, has appeared in Reed Magazine, Juked, brownpaper, The Bend, Liquid Magazine, Inscape and placed in the Nojiriko Issa Haiku Contest.

I have read two of Kristen's poems. From this, and the reviews I have read; Oh how I wish this event was streamed or otherwise made available. It's a bit too far from Oslo...

I was simply spellbound BOTH times I've heard Kristen Eliason read. I wouldn't miss this third opportunity for anything. Her poetry enraptures.

When Kristen Eliason reads, she convinces any doubters that poetry. prose, and "prosetry" (as she has called it) are alive and well in South Bend, IN. Thanks, Utah, for lending her to us.

I am adding a review because I neglected to do that the last time. I am certain that this will be an experience worth the trek through slush and snow.

Kristen poetry is haunting. I liked what I heard of her at Lula's last year, and will be back for more.
