“My painting career has continually evolved and changed ever since college. I consider myself an abstract expressionist painter and envision the world through color, shape and dimension. My work is always changing, however, I remain true to abstraction. My studies have included working with Harriet FeBland and Alton Tobey, well known painters in New York and have exhibited throughout the area while residing in Westchester County, New York. I was a member of The FeBland Group in New York, which was well known in the area as a group of accomplished artists. My paintings were in many galleries which included Summerfield Gallery in Dobbs Ferry, New York., The Art Barn Gallery in Mamaroneck New York, Sindin Harris Gallery and Gallery Unique in New York City. I also participated in several shows in Brooklyn College. Additionally, John Baur, the Director of the Whitney Museum of Art in New York accepted paintings for exhibition in a juried show. I was a member of Artists Equity in New York for many years before I relocated. After moving to Chicago, I continued painting and taught art privately. My paintings are in many private collections throughout the United States and Europe. Since moving to LaPorte, Indiana I have participated in several exhibitions which include a show at The LaPorte Symphony Gallery, and juried shows at the Art Barn, Valparaiso, Visions 2008 at the Southern Shore Art Gallery, and Fusion of the Arts at Indiana University 2008. My art studio is located in LaPorte, Indiana and I remain actively engaged in my art. The work on exhibit I like to call “Images of the Mind”. It is an expression of the inner self and how I view our environment. It also challenges the viewer and encourages the viewer to step inside, throw away conformity, and see the inner world of the artist’s mind.” -Ginny Scott
