A performance of Handel's Messiah is a popular holiday tradition. In this performance, the audience can sing the choruses along with the chorale and orchestra. Also called a "Scratch Messiah" or a "People's Messiah", it has become a tradition among music lovers in the English-speaking world and in the Netherlands.
