A fun mystery with a "dramatic" twist from Ken Ludwig, author of Lend Me a Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo. It is 1922 and actor William Gillette, best known for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, has invited the cast of his latest play for a weekend at his castle-style house in Connecticut. For entertainment Gillette has arranged a seance. Now the scene is set for his greatest role. Someone is trying to murder him and Gillette suspects it is one of his guests. The intrepid, eccentric actor sets about solving the case himself, a la Sherlock Holmes.
