Faculty Vocal Recital: The Italian Songbook

The Notre Dame community will be treated to a rare event: a performance of Hugo Wolf's entire Italienisches Liederbuch. This masterful work of colorful late nineteenth-century miniatures will be performed by Notre Dame professors Georgine Resick and Mark Beudert, accompanied by Nick Carthy from the University of Colorado-Boulder. A lecture will precede the concert at 1:00 p.m. by J.W. Van Gorkom Professor of Music Susan Youens, who has written two books on Hugo Wolf and his music.
