Fauré's Requiem

Composed between 1870 and 1890, this subdued and ethereal work captures Fauré's goals of simplicity, fresh harmonies, and subtle beauty - another step in his quest to write music that was new and different. He meant this work to convey his personal feelings about death, "a joyful deliverance, and aspiration towards a happiness beyond the grave." This work is a favorite among high school singers, and Vesper Chorale joyfully welcomes the Mishawaka High School Madrigal Society and their director, Rebecca A. Wilson, along with the Vesper Chamber Orchestra. This Event in the News
