This film chronicles the story of Rosa Parks, a Black woman who in 1955 created the spark that ignited the modern Civil Rights Movement by refusing to relinquish her seat on a bus for a White woman. Her refusal threw Rosa and her family into the Ku Klux Klan’s ring of hatred as well as into the limelight of the NAACP. The compelling true story demonstrates the power a single act of defiance can have over an ancient tradition of injustice.
