“The Merchant of Venice” is a tale of mistrust and revenge, built around the most famous collateral in literature: a pound of flesh. Shylock, the Jewish moneylender, is one of the most complex of Shakespeare’s characters, and much critical attention has been paid to the play’s troubling ending. This event is part of Spring ArtsFest presented by Notre Dame's Marie P. DeBartolo Center for the Performing Arts.
