This “trivial comedy for serious people” by Oscar Wilde finds Jack Worthing and Algernon Montcrief assuming the name “Ernest” in order to win the hearts of the women they love. Both ladies believe that they would never be happy unless they marry a man named Ernest. Unfortunately, Jack and Algernon’s plans don’t go as smoothly as they would like and the dilemma leads to one of the most hilarious plays in theatre history.
