"Art and Social Justice" was the title of a 1989 exhibition of work by Doug Kinsey and Jake Webster. At that time we included a round table discussion at the opening reception focusing on issues of social justice in art. In 1991, we took this theme and expanded it into the juried exhibition - at first to include three states and later four – Indiana, Michigan, Illinois and Ohio. This year’s juror, Julie Tourtillotte Chair of the Art Department at Saint Mary’s College, selected a strong and provocative exhibition bringing attention to social injustice in the world.
