In the 1960's, local civil rights groups and concerned citizens pressed the South Bend Community School Corporation to take steps to fully integrate its schools. Join guest panelists Virginia Calvin, Ph.D., Ed Meyers, George Woolridge, and Roger Birdsell as they discuss the intent of the integration plan, ways it was implemented, how it has been effective, and whether its goals are met in today’s classrooms. Led by moderator Les Lamon, Ph.D., the discussion is part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Presentation Series offered in conjunction with the exhibit, Media Coverage of Civil Rights.
