6th Annual I.U. South Bend Independent Video and Filmmakers Festival
April 13-April 14, 2007
Add Review/CommentThe IUSB Film Club Presents the 6th Annual I.U. South Bend Independent Video and Filmmakers Festival 2007. The I.U. South Bend Independent Filmmakers Festival is the only independent film festival of its kind in Northern Indiana and is held on the IU South Bend campus. Over 30 films ranging from 2 minutes to 100 minutes will be shown, created by filmmakers from the local area, the Midwest and beyond including New York, California, North Carolina and Canada. The film screenings will be held at Wiekamp Hall, rooms 1001 and 1135. Film workshops in screenwriting, producing, special effects and directing are held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Sessions are included in the festival admission fee and each lasts 75 minutes. Attendees must sign up for the sessions of their choice at the festival, since seating is limited. Friday night will kick off with a variety of short films starting with the Notre Dame student film Welcome To Snyderville and conclude with the Indianapolis-based mockumentary Open Mic’rs about aspiring stand up comedians. Saturday evening will feature the internationally screened spoof The Dork of the Rings filmed in the South Bend area. The festival will conclude with the Canadian feature Confusions of an Unmarried Couple, a gritty and humorous look at sex and relationships. Please visit our website for the complete list of film selections. The film schedule and detailed information on our different workshops will be available online several weeks before the festival opens. The IVFF is sponsored by the IUSB Film Club and supported by the IU South Bend Alumni Association, Mid America Filmmakers and Indianapolisfilm.net. This non-competitive festival is open to anyone who makes shorts or features, on video or film, including high school and college students.
