    The Nanovic Institute for European Studies presents the 2007 Terrence R. Keeley Visiting Vatican Lecturer, Dr. Francesco Buranelli, director of The Vatican Museums, who will lecture on "The Mission of the Vatican Museums Throughout 500 Years of Its History." Francesco Buranelli, a native of Rome, has a degree in Etruscology and Italic Antiquities and a "dottore di ricerca" in Archeology (Etruscology) from Rome University "La Sapienza." In 2002 he was appointed general director of the Vatican Museums by His Holiness Pope John Paul II.
