American acoustic roots music. also appearing: Drop the Dog. Luke Sayers has been a musician and lover of music in all of its infinite forms since his childhood. Life has been a musical journey which has led Luke through many phases and stages. As a solo artist, Luke's songwriting lead to his nomination for the Detroit Music Awards for 2005's Outstanding Acoustic/Folk Songwriter, and for 2006's Outstanding Acoustic/Folk Artist/Group. Previously, as a member of the group Tangerine Trousers, Luke grew from his traditional role as upright bassist into a songwriter, singer, and acoustic guitarist; helping the Trousers garner the 2004 Detroit Music Awards for Outstanding Acoustic/Folk Recording and Outstanding Acoustic Artists. Luke has become known for his passionate and uninhibited live performances in which a pound of flesh, blood, sweat, and tears are always given freely for appreciative audiences. He has recorded on several original CDs and has toured internationally, performing his original songs at venues and festivals such as The Bluebird Café in Nashville and The Ann Arbor Folk Festival. Luke has shared the stage with Martin Sexton, Ani Difranco, Old Crow Medicine Show, Donna the Buffalo, Jackie Green, Railroad Earth, Brave Combo, The Clumsy Lovers, Ruthie Foster, and The Bluehouse.
