Featuring Chen Xi, violinist and Tchaikovsky Competition Silver Prize Winner Brahms: Hungarian Dances Nos. 5 & 6 Beethoven: Violin Concerto, Op. 61 Brahms: Symphony No. 2, Op. 73 Johannes Brahms has been considered the "successor" to Beethoven and the two composers certainly had a lot in common. They were born in Germany but lived in Vienna; were composers who were tutored by their fathers; and were pianists. Their music has made a significant impact on the world and these pieces are no exception. Chen Xi, from Shenyang, China, has been playing the violin sing age four. He has performed as soloist with the Russian National Orchestra and the China Philharmonic Orchestra. This young violin sensation is not to be missed.
