Vesper Chorale, along with the Vesper Chamber Orchestra and special guests the Chamber Singers of Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, presents Haydn's Creation. “Papa Haydn” represents the finest of the Viennese classical tradition in a style characterized by simplicity, sincerity, and delight. When setting sacred texts, he first prayed for inspiration, and committed to describe God "as a being infinitely great and infinitely good, and the idea of this latter attribute of the divine nature fills me with such confidence, such joy, that I should set even a miserere to cheerful music." His oratorio “Creation” recounts the Biblical story told in Genesis 1 with cheer, joy, tenderness, and love.
