Notre Dame Chorale and Chamber Orchestra
April 21, 2007
Add Review/CommentThe University of Notre Dame Chorale is a select choral organization, open to students from every field of study. In its campus concerts and on tour throughout the nation, the Chorale presents music drawn from the finest choral tradition. It has appeared frequently with orchestra in works by Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Mendelssohn, and Stravinsky. Director Alexander Blachly is known outside the University of Notre Dame for his world-acclaimed Renaissance vocal ensemble Pomerium, with which is recording an on-going series of compact disks of a cappella Renaissance music. The University of Notre Dame Chamber Orchestra is a select ensemble of students from the ranks of the University of Notre Dame Symphony Orchestra. In recent years, performances with the Chorale and the Chamber Orchestra have included Haydn's The Creation and Stabat Mater, Bach's Cantata Aus der Tiefen, and Mozart's Vesperae solennes de Confessore.
