Internationally renowned pianist Warren Jones, the Principal Pianist for the Camerata Pacifica, frequently performs with many of today's best known artists, including Stephanie Blythe, Denyce Graves, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Frederica von Stade, and Anthony Dean Griffey. Jones comes to the University of Notre Dame to perform with the Department of Music vocal professor, Georgine Resick, an American soprano of exceptional caliber. Georgine Resick's appearances on international stages have been met with public and critical acclaim, as well as the respect of her colleagues, who have re-engaged her season after season at the world's most important opera houses, established orchestras and prestigious festivals. Particularly renowned for her Mozart and Strauss interpretations, her wide ranging repertoire has been heard at the world's great theaters, among them the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Houston Grand Opera, Cologne Opera, Paris Opera, Vienna State Opera, Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf, the Washington Opera, and Hamburg State Theater, as well as at the Salzburg, Edinburgh, Drottningholm, and Lucerne Strings in the Mountains Festivals. The recital will feature poetry set to music by the masters: Claude Debussy, Hugo Wolf, Henry Purcell, Modest Mussorgsky, Claudio Monteverdi, and Andre Caplet.
