Mark Beudert has studied his craft intensely with such artists as Franco Corelli, Placio Domingo, and Giuseppe di Stefano. He won the Luciano Pavarotti Concorso Internazionale in 1986 and made a critically acclaimed debut at the Washington Opera as Nerone in L’Incoronazione di Poppea. He also debuted at New York City Opera in the roles of Alfredo in La Traviata and the title roles in Candide and The Student Prince. For this recital. Beudert brings his dramatic interpretations to songs by Wolf, Poulene, Britten, and Janacek. Beudert will be joined by pianist Timothy Cheek (School of Music, University of Michigan) and mezzo-soprano Karen Lykes (University of Cincinnati College, Conservatory of Music).
