Faculty and students at the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts will present their original compositions at this recital titled 2007 Music Across the Atlantic: Exploring the Roots. The concert will be an evening of new music from the old and new worlds with the program including several guest composers, a piece by Simón Castaño Ramírez a graduate student in the composition program at IU South Bend and faculty members Jorge Muñiz and Marjorie M. Rusche. Several faculty members along with guest artists will be the featured performers of these pieces. The program includes Sonata for Saxophone and Piano by Julio Alberto Company Ortega, Bound & Rebound, for Bassoon and Piano by Pedro Correa, De los aguaceros y las reminiscencias by Simón Castaño Ramírez, Tríptico by Fernando López-Blanco, Comments by Marjorie M. Rusche and two compositions by Jorge Muñiz titled Refracciones asturianas, for piano and Cantos del Emigrante, for Tenor and Piano.
