    This compelling, true story recounts the success of Jamie Escalante, a dedicated inner-city teacher who inspires his dropout-prone students to master mathematics and eventually sit for the College Board’s Advanced Placement Calculus Exam. The students do so well that the College Board accuses them of cheating.

          I am an ESOL teacher in Maryland. I have shown this movie to my classes for the last several years and it has been very well received. Normally a percentage of the class falls asleep during a movie... Expand
