Sugarland
November 17, 2006
Add Review/CommentSUGARLAND country band is led by singer-songwriters Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush from Atlanta. SUGARLAND was nominated for a Grammy Award as Best New Country Artist in 2005, following the release of their major label debut CD “Twice the Speed of Life,” and also received several Country Music Association award nominations. Nettles enjoyed a top-selling single this summer with her duet with Jon Bon Jovi, “Who Says You Can’t Go Home.” Radio and fans alike have embraced their singles: “Baby Girl,” “Something More,” “Just Might (Make Me Believe),” and “Down in Mississippi (Up To No Good.)” The new Sugarland CD “Enjoy the Ride” will be released November 7 and includes the single “Want To.” Jennifer belted out songs in a Baptist church as a kid and then spent a decade ruling the Atlanta club circuit. Charismatic Kristian was a former alternative folk-rocker who grew up listening to college radio favorites The Replacements and R.E.M. Together, the two singular performers of Sugarland create an artistic partnership that is as unique as it is compelling. Special Guest TAYLOR SWIFT’s debut CD is set for release on October 24, and features her single “Tim McGraw,” one of Taylor’s greatest country superstar influences and describes the way music can evoke the sweetest of memories. Her “coming-of-age anthem, “A Place in This World,” is an apt description of the enthusiastic, down-to-earth young sixteen-year-old woman. “Tied Together With Life” tackles more serious issues about the fragile self-esteem of teenagers, inspired by girls that TAYLOR has known through the years.
