What happens when actors keep acting after the curtain has fallen and playwrights think think real are as simple as the ones in their scripts? Henry writes self-indulgent plays about affairs and unchecked passion. But when reality interferes with his life, he discovers that some experiences can't be written down, and life is more complex than the worlds in his plays. Tom Stoppard's acclaimed script is peopled with a mixed-up tangle of friends and lovers, actors and playwrights, all in search of "the real thing."
